About the Company
Our client is a well-established electrical contracting business delivering commercial Design & Build fit-out projects across London and the Home Counties. Projects typically range from £100k to £1.5m and are delivered to high standards of electrical compliance, safety, and quality.
Role Overview
The NICEIC Qualified Supervisor / Quality Manager will take responsibility for electrical conformity and quality across live projects, supporting delivery from design through to handover. Working closely with Contracts Directors, Project Managers, and senior leadership, you will carry out regular site visits, assess installations and working practices, review certification, and provide clear technical reports and guidance to site and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend active sites throughout the project lifecycle to assess electrical installations, working practices, and compliance.
- Review temporary electrical installations, certification, and existing systems to ensure suitability for alterations and additions.
- Liaise with client project and site managers to proactively identify and resolve technical or quality issues.
- Review site health and safety arrangements, verifying that operatives hold appropriate competency cards (ECS, PASMA, IPAF, etc.).
- Assess electrical works against BS 7671 and applicable standards, including post-second-fix inspections.
- Review draft certification against installed equipment, confirming accuracy of cable types, sizes, protective devices, and test results.
- Carry out detailed visual inspections of distribution boards, equipment, outlets, and field terminations.
- Produce clear written reports following site visits, detailing non-compliances with BS 7671, BS 5266, and BS 5839 where applicable.
- Issue reports to Contracts Directors, Project Managers, and Site Electrical Supervisors, and provide follow-up technical support.
- Support the wider business with client complaints, design queries, and compliance-related technical advice.
- Carry out electrical design work using Amtech software and on paper for simple design queries.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
- Strong electrical design knowledge, including lighting design.
- Background in commercial Design & Build office fit-outs, with some domestic experience.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Quality-led approach with strong attention to detail.
- C&G NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent).
- C&G 2396 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations.
- ECS Gold or Black Card.
- BS 7671:2018 18th Edition.
- HNC in Electrical or Building Services (preferred, not essential).
