Role Overview
Our client is seeking a BMS Service Engineer to join their BMS Division, working alongside an experienced team of engineers. This role is suited to an engineer with proven experience in BMS service activities and the ability to undertake small works independently. The position involves working across multiple small to medium-sized projects, with values typically ranging from £1,500 to £70,000, and will include travel and out-of-hours work as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning of small BMS systems
- Fault finding and diagnosing system issues
- Producing and working from point-to-point lists
- Working closely with the Service Manager to develop software strategy and implementation
- Working with communication protocols including Modbus, BACnet, and Lon
- Delivering works across multiple small and medium-sized projects simultaneously
- Graphic modification of BMS interfaces
- Working with systems including Tridium, Centraline, Distech, and Trend
- Calibration of sensors and valve actuators
- Liaising with clients and site managers to support project delivery
Requirements
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems
- Strong understanding of BMS strategy and pre-commissioning
- High level of experience with Tridium, Trend, and Centraline products
- Proficient in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong understanding of other controls automation-related equipment, such as variable frequency drives
- Basic knowledge of relevant standards governing the controls automation industry is desirable
- Ability to work across multiple projects concurrently and manage workload effectively
- Willingness to travel and undertake out-of-hours work when required
