Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing / Construction

Optima Site Solutions is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Lewisham.
We are particularly interested in candidates with Quantity Surveying experience and a strong background in social housing.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
- Preparing estimates, valuations, variations and cost reports.
- Working with SOR Codes (Schedule of Rates) to price works, assess costs and complete valuations.
- Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial and cost risks.
- Reviewing contractor applications, valuations and invoices.
- Working closely with contractors, clients and project teams.
- Supporting procurement and contract management.
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the required standards.
- Maintaining accurate commercial, financial and project documentation.
- Identifying cost savings and supporting effective commercial management.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role within social housing, maintenance, repairs or construction.
- Good working knowledge and practical experience of SOR Codes / Schedule of Rates is essential.
- Experience pricing and valuing responsive repairs, planned works, maintenance or refurbishment projects would be highly advantageous.
- Good understanding of construction processes, contracts and commercial management.
