Our client is a growing HVAC facilities company based in the home counties, specializing in all types of mechanical services. They offer tailored solutions that combine mechanical and HVAC systems, delivering cost-effective and efficient climate control packages for a variety of industries, including large commercial, industrial, and educational sectors.

Role Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee and manage HVAC projects across the Home Counties. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and financial control of HVAC projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client. This role will suit a candidate who holds experience of managing projects up to the value of 1 million+.

Package:

  • £60,000 to £65,000 per annum
  • Bonus Package (5-10k per annum)

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract Support: Provide support to the sales team during the pre-contract phase by offering advice and reviewing costs prior to estimates.

Project Delivery: Take full ownership of HVAC projects once an order is confirmed. Plan, procure, and coordinate all necessary labour, materials, plant, and equipment, utilizing IT systems. Oversee the efficient use of resources, managing costs and labour requirements effectively. Report on project progress, attend site meetings, and provide regular written updates. Recruit specialists and sub-contractors as required. Monitor and manage the quality of installations. Provide advisory support to site engineers on a daily basis.

Health and Safety & Compliance: Produce and manage Risk Assessments and Safe Working Methods (RAMS). Ensure compliance with quality standards and assist in producing O&M documentation.

Financial & Programme Management: Use project management software to monitor the progress of the project and manage resources. Regularly review labour and purchase costs. Handle valuations of work in progress and invoicing on a monthly basis. Manage additional work costs and record any extras as they arise.

Performance Objectives: Ensure the successful delivery of HVAC projects, from customer order to completion. Coordinate all project activities, including setting up schedules, procuring resources, and overseeing installation. Review specifications and drawings, ensuring effective communication with all parties involved. Oversee the handover process and ensure customer satisfaction post-completion.

Key Skills and Qualifications: Strong organizational and planning abilities. Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong numeracy and financial management skills. Good understanding of Health & Safety, contract law, and other business functions. Leadership and team management experience. Ability to motivate and manage people effectively. Proven problem-solving skills and ability to manage change.
