Role Overview
The Senior Electrical Estimator / Commercial Manager will lead the commercial operations function, covering pricing, estimation, and bid management, reporting directly to the Directors. This is a senior, high-impact role focused on embedding robust commercial systems and governance, improving pricing consistency, increasing bid throughput, and protecting margin through disciplined scope definition and risk management.
You will own the end-to-end estimation and bid process, coordinating cross-functional inputs to deliver accurate, competitive, and delivery-aligned commercial submissions that support the company’s strategic growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage pricing, estimation, and bid functions across commercial operations.
- Take ownership of the full bid lifecycle, from initial enquiry through to submission.
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs to ensure bids are accurate, complete, and deliverable.
- Produce commercially robust and competitive submissions aligned with delivery capability.
- Establish and maintain strong commercial systems, governance frameworks, and pricing models.
- Improve pricing consistency and bid throughput while maintaining disciplined scope control.
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial and delivery risks throughout the bid process.
- Protect margin through clear scoping, risk mitigation, and sound commercial judgement.
- Work closely with Directors and senior stakeholders to support strategic planning and growth.
- Mentor and develop commercial capability as the team and business scale.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in technically complex environments.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering bids to deadline and driving cross-functional outcomes.
- Strong commercial competence across pricing, risk management, and bid governance.
- Confidence working with data, systems, and structured commercial models.
- Ability to make informed commercial decisions and hold standards consistently.
- Calm, professional, and commercially grounded approach.
