Role Overview
The company is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, supporting project delivery, and ensuring profitability across a diverse portfolio of public sector projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for projects up to £5m in value
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to produce costings
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Work closely with the pre-construction and project teams to ensure smooth handover of successful bids
- Identify value engineering opportunities and assess project risks
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations, and pricing trends
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the M&E or building services sector
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems in public sector environments (schools, healthcare, government buildings)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Team player with the ability to work independently when required
