The predicted salary is between 90000 - 95000 £ per year.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across high-voltage transmission and renewable energy projects. You will oversee tenders, live projects, and commercial teams, ensuring strong governance, risk management, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for all regional projects in partnership with the Portfolio Manager.
  • Lead tender reviews, identify risks and opportunities, and provide accurate cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) and progress reporting to senior leadership.
  • Oversee procurement and ensure all contractual obligations are met.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Project Teams to optimise forecasts, cashflow, and business plan performance.
  • Manage and mentor commercial teams, promoting continuous development and high standards of performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers to secure new work and resolve disputes.
  • Drive improvements in commercial processes, performance, and team capability.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in commercial management, preferably on National Grid substation or large infrastructure projects.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4, JCT, and FIDIC contracts.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contract terms.
  • Understanding of project controls, programme management, and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel across regional sites.
