Assistant Site Manager – Residential New Build Location: Bideford, Devon Salary / Day Rate: £200 - £300 Job Type: Contract to Permanent Start Date: ASAP Optima Site Solutions is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager for a residential development in Bideford, Devon. This role would suit someone with experience in new-build housing who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys coordinating teams to keep a busy development moving. The Role Working closely with the Site Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the development, helping deliver homes safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors, monitor build progress and help manage plots through to completion and handover. Key Responsibilities * Support the Site Manager with daily site operations and planning. * Coordinate subcontractors and trades across different stages of the build. * Monitor progress against the construction programme and flag potential delays. * Carry out quality inspections and ensure work meets drawings and specifications. * Help organise labour, materials and deliveries to maintain workflow. * Support site inductions, toolbox talks and health and safety checks. * Maintain accurate site records and report progress to the Site Manager. * Oversee snagging and de-snagging, ensuring homes are ready for handover. * Liaise with sales and customer care teams to support a smooth customer experience. About You * Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor on new-build residential projects. * A good understanding of housebuilding methods and construction sequencing. * Strong organisational skills and the confidence to coordinate subcontractors. * A proactive approach to health and safety, quality and problem-solving. * Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. * Relevant site management qualifications and up-to-date health and safety training. * A trade background would be advantageous.
