Focusing on assessing and optimising the energy performance of buildings, to meet regulatory requirements and improve energy efficiency. You’ll be working closely with architects, property developers, construction companies and facilities managers. Job description: * Calculate and issue Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), on a standardized scale * Use simulation software to model building energy use and determine compliance with local building regulations. * Create digital models of buildings using tools like IES-VE, DesignBuilder, SAP, SBEM, or EnergyPlus. * Simulate heating, cooling, lighting, ventilation, and overall energy consumption * Ensure new and existing buildings meet national or local energy efficiency standards * Provide advice to architects, engineers, and developers to make buildings compliant during design and post-construction stages * Evaluate existing buildings and recommend improvements * Model potential energy savings and payback periods for these upgrades. * Advise on low-carbon design, renewable integration (solar PV, heat pumps), and lifecycle emissions. * Support certifications like LEED, BREEAM, or WELL Building Standard. * Provide technical reports, energy audits, and compliance documents to clients and authorities. * Assist in grant or funding applications related to energy efficiency or carbon reduction.
