The Estimator / Quantity Surveyor will support the business through accurate cost planning, effective commercial management, and detailed analysis of project requirements across works valued between £1,000 and £2,000,000. The position combines estimating and quantity surveying duties to ensure competitive pricing, strong commercial governance, and profitability across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing cost estimates, pricing schedules, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
- Carrying out site visits, surveys, material take-offs, and labour calculations
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and secure value for money
- Managing valuations, variations, final accounts, applications for payment, and cash flow forecasting
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
- Supporting project teams with commercial guidance and contributing to continuous improvement
Requirements
- Experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in building maintenance, construction, or facilities management
- Background working on projects from £1k to £2m
