Our client is looking for a reliable and hands-on Warehouse Operative to join their friendly team. This is a varied position where you'll be responsible for accurately picking, packing and dispatching customer orders, whilst supporting the wider warehouse operation. This role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, has excellent attention to detail and is happy to get involved with a range of warehouse duties. Basic DIY or carpentry skills would be highly advantageous, as you'll occasionally assist with constructing protective packaging and supporting other warehouse projects during quieter periods.
Based in Epsom, c£27,000 salary, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5.30pm (flexible start / finish following training). Parking on site.
Key responsibilities:- Pick and pack customer orders accurately using pick lists.
- Pack items securely to ensure they arrive safely with customers.
- Prepare parcels for dispatch, including labelling and weighing shipments.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure orders are accurate before dispatch.
- Assist with palletising larger consignments when required.
- Help construct wooden crates and protective packaging for specialist deliveries.
- Replenish stock within the warehouse.
- Assist with goods-in, unloading deliveries and checking incoming stock.
- Carry out stock checks and support inventory control.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely following appropriate training.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure customer orders are dispatched on time.
- Provide support across the warehouse with a variety of operational tasks as required.
- Previous warehouse, picking or packing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Reliable with an excellent work ethic and strong attendance record.
- Practical DIY, carpentry or general maintenance skills would be highly desirable.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable undertaking manual handling and physical work.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Experience using warehouse or stock management systems would be beneficial.
- Salary of £26,000 - £27,000 depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday working hours with flexibility after training.
- Overtime available during busy periods.
- 28 days' holiday including Bank Holidays.
