About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Buyer / Purchasing professional to join the business in a key purchasing role, working closely with the Managing Director. This is a hands-on position for someone with solid purchasing and ordering experience who can take ownership of the buying process, ensure stock and parts are ordered efficiently, and build strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience within the motor trade / parts buying environment and be confident managing purchasing requirements from order through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day purchasing and buying activities.
- Work closely with the Managing Director to understand purchasing requirements.
- Source and order parts, products and materials as required.
- Manage the ordering process and ensure requirements are fulfilled efficiently.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing, availability and delivery information.
- Negotiate with suppliers where appropriate to achieve competitive pricing.
- Monitor stock levels and anticipate future purchasing requirements.
- Ensure orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Track outstanding orders and resolve any issues with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
