About the Role

Our client is an established and growing business based in Chessington looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of their busy warehouse operation.

This is a varied, hands-on management role where you will oversee the full warehouse function, from goods-in and stock management through to picking, packing and dispatch, whilst leading and developing the warehouse team.

You will be responsible for ensuring the operation runs safely, efficiently and accurately, with a strong focus on people management, stock accuracy, productivity, customer service and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day warehouse operation including goods-in, storage, picking, packing and dispatch
  • Leading, motivating and developing the warehouse team
  • Planning workloads, staffing and warehouse resources to ensure an efficient operation
  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and overseeing inventory and stock control processes
  • Ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time
  • Managing domestic and international shipments where required
  • Monitoring warehouse performance, productivity and service levels
  • Producing and monitoring warehouse KPIs and operational reports
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety throughout the warehouse
  • Ensuring warehouse procedures, quality standards and company processes are followed
  • Investigating stock discrepancies, quality issues and operational problems
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to warehouse processes and efficiencies
  • Ensuring warehouse equipment is maintained and safe to use
  • Working closely with Purchasing, Sales, Finance and other departments across the business
  • Supporting the continued development and growth of the warehouse operation

Person Specification

  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor or experienced Warehouse Team Leader
  • Strong knowledge of goods-in, stock control, picking, packing and dispatch
  • Proven experience leading and managing a warehouse team
  • Strong people management and motivational skills
  • Good understanding of inventory and stock management
  • Experience working with warehouse KPIs and operational reporting
  • Excellent organisational and workload planning skills
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness
  • Confident IT skills and experience using warehouse management systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proactive approach with a focus on improving processes and efficiencies
