Job Title: Joint Safeguarding Business Manager Department: Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership Location: Dudley Contract Duration: 6 Months Salary: £59,024 – £62,858 per annum (pro rata) IR35 Status: Inside Application Deadline: ASAP Optima Plus Recruitment is excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Joint Safeguarding Business Manager to join our client’s team on a 6-month contract. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead strategic and operational activity within the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership, contributing to the protection of vulnerable children, young people, and adults across the borough. As the Joint Safeguarding Business Manager, you will take a leading role in developing and coordinating the safeguarding agenda, ensuring that all relevant legislation and guidance are adhered to, while working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership * Lead and support the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership in delivering the partnership's vision, ensuring the protection of vulnerable children, young people, and adults. * Develop, monitor, and deliver safeguarding plans and strategies to improve outcomes. * Manage and oversee the coordination of the Safeguarding People Partnership’s subgroups. * Provide expert advice and ensure all safeguarding initiatives meet legal and regulatory requirements. Multi-Agency Collaboration * Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring the smooth delivery of safeguarding practices across sectors. * Act as a liaison between agencies, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks, and leading safeguarding audits and reviews. * Oversee multi-agency training initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with the latest safeguarding policies and best practices. Quality Assurance & Reporting * Lead the Quality Assurance Framework for safeguarding, ensuring activities are monitored and evaluated for effectiveness. * Prepare reports and recommendations for the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership Board, ensuring accurate data and feedback is presented. * Ensure the delivery of Serious Case Reviews (CSPR) and Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SAR), coordinating relevant actions and responses. General Responsibilities * Manage the safeguarding training budget and oversee its allocation. * Develop and implement safeguarding strategies in line with statutory guidelines. * Represent the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership on regional and national programmes, ensuring the voice of the partnership is heard. * Liaise with key stakeholders such as local authorities, the police, the NHS, and other relevant bodies. Main Levels of Contact Internal: Staff of the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership, Senior Management Team, Safeguarding Leads. External: Local authorities, Health and Social Care providers, Police, Housing Associations, Third Sector Organizations, Government departments. Person Specification Experience * Significant experience in safeguarding children, young people, and adults. * Proven track record in a senior safeguarding or related leadership role, managing multi-agency teams. * Extensive experience in developing and implementing safeguarding frameworks, policies, and training. Education & Training * Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Law, or Public Health). * Registered with the relevant professional body. * Post-qualification experience in safeguarding. Special Knowledge & Skills * In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures. * Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills. * Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. * Experience of working within a multi-agency framework. Additional Factors * Ability to manage complex situations with tact and diplomacy. * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and safeguarding management systems. * Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
