We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Bioinformatics Engineer who enjoys building scalable workflows, solving complex data problems, and contributing directly to high-value drug discovery programmes. You’ll work across genomics and multi-omics projects, often embedded with client teams, helping shape computational strategy and delivering rigorous scientific outputs.
What you’ll do
- Develop and optimise bioinformatics workflows (Nextflow preferred) for large-scale genomics/omics datasets.
- Build reproducible pipelines for HPC and cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Analyse genomic and multi-omics data using Python, R and bash.
- Support study design, interpret results, and communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across tools, systems, and data quality.
About you
- MSc or PhD-equivalent in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistical Genetics or similar.
- Strong coding skills (Python, R, bash) and experience with WGS/WES or other omics datasets.
- Workflow experience (Nextflow, WDL, Snakemake, CWL).
- Comfortable in HPC and cloud environments; Git-fluent.
- Confident communicator who thrives in collaborative, client-facing work.
- Bonus experience: Docker/Singularity, population genetics, MLOps, TREs, or consultancy delivery.
