Role Summary
Optima Health are looking for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to undertake the role of Clinical Lead – Rail and Transport. The Clinical Lead will support the operational Customer Service Delivery Managers and assigned Customer Service Manager with clinical aspects of client accounts. Provide expert clinical advice to the customer as required, and attend all appropriate meetings, dealing with actions where relevant. Ensuring any dedicated clinical teams deliver and maintain the highest standards of healthcare in line with Optima Health standards and values, as required. Ensuring the client\’s perception of the occupational health service is delivered.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Function as an overall clinical expert for key strategic customers within Optima maintaining an excellent understanding of the operational workings and therefore Occupational Health risks of the customer so that both strategic and day to day clinical advice and support can be provide to the customer and clinical teams working on the contract.
- Ensure customer specific clinical guidance documentation is kept up to date.
- Support the COM\’s and CSM\’s leading the contract with attending meetings and providing clear clinical direction where required.
- Assist with complaint investigation on the contract where required.
- Conduct regular clinics for the customers on agreed \”Clinical Days.\”
- Contribute to clinical audit of customer related reports.
- Recognise areas for general clinical improvements to be made on the contract and work with the relevant stakeholders in other teams to follow the correct change process to implement any agreed changes.
- Support customers with occupational health policy reviews and changes.
- Support to ensure relevant team compliance with clinical accreditations and registrations, standards, operational processes, and customer expectations.
- Conduct audit of clinical team performance and drive quality improvement and sharing of best practice
- Ensure that quality is reviewed from customer perspective.
- Review, analyse and continually improve on clinical and customer audit performance within your assigned team and drive quality and compliance improvement and sharing of best practice, collaborating with your peers to ensure consistency across all teams, including the identification of repeat issues and implementation of resolutions.
- Create and develop a culture of service excellence across the customer operation.
- Any positive, negative, or constructive feedback is received graciously, reviewed, and actioned where appropriate and action taken communicated to the client and in compliance with the compliments and complaint handling policy.
- Create and manage development plans and CPD programme for own team, collaborating with colleagues in a multidisciplinary way wherever possible.
- Provide leadership, direction and motivation to other clinicians ensuring efficient and effective delivery of service operations to all designated clients.
- Whilst maintaining necessary proper controls and operating in line with the company\’s flexible working policy, promote the innovative use of communications technology to improve flexible working, thereby helping to retain talent and reduce travelling.

Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role
- Registered General Nurse with NMC Registration
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health Nursing
- Experienced in delivering Occupational Health into the rail or transport industries
