Role Summary:
The role of Counsellor is to provide a professional and confidential workplace counselling and therapy service to clients across a range of contracts. This may include supporting individuals with personal and/or work-related issues. The post holder will be required to comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards relating to quality and confidentiality. The successful candidate must be a registered counsellor with a CBT qualification. This role will involve a combination of on-site and remote working.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide professional and confidential counselling and therapy services to clients from a range of contracts.
- To maintain adequate records of counselling and therapy work and provide appropriate statistical returns as required.
- Consult with Head of Mental Health Services and the Clinical Manager appropriately regarding general employee care issues, training needs, policy, and practice, without any breach of confidentiality or compromise to the nature of this post.
- Collaborate with employees collaboratively to maintain fair and transparent systems to ensure that clients are seen within a reasonable timeframe within contract KPIs.
- Conduct any other work or duties that are requested.
- Responsible for diary management through the online portal system.
- Collaborate with other employees.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information about clients, employees, and other business in accordance with professional codes of conduct and relevant legislation such as the Data Protection Act.
- Participate in clinical supervision.
- Adhere to professional body's ethical framework and professional requirements, including partaking in training, with help and support from colleagues.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Information Technology applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Those therapists working on blue light contracts will also be required to provide in person therapy as required, assist with the duty function, complete psychological monitoring and provide on-site and virtual trauma support (All training will be provided).

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required for the Role:
- Minimum of a Degree in Counselling
- CBT Practitioner qualification
- Registered with a professional body
- Experienced in working in a highly demanding environment.
- Ability to work autonomously conducting risk assessments on vulnerable clients.
