Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 5pm)

Role Summary

The Senior Resource Planner leads and coordinates operational planning to deliver optimised schedules that meet client requirements, maximise revenue, and achieve KPIs and compliance targets. You will own key plans, support fellow planners, and help maintain smooth clinic and operational performance through effective controls and continuous process improvement. This role also includes coaching, mentoring, and line‑management responsibilities to support the development of the planning team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support the planning team, including recruitment, performance management, and training.
  • Act as the first escalation point for planning and scheduling issues.
  • Create and maintain optimised schedules that meet client needs, maximise service delivery, and achieve KPIs.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in clinical coverage to ensure continuity of service.
  • Manage schedule accuracy, shrinkage, and re‑planning in response to operational changes.
  • Work with the Real Time Team to monitor adherence and maintain the operational resource plan.
  • Build strong relationships with practitioners, managers, internal teams, and clients.
  • Coordinate agency/associate practitioner schedules and ensure accurate booking system setup.
  • Drive improvements in planning processes and operational efficiency.
  • Support contract onboarding through setup and management of streaming groups.
  • Promote Optima Health values and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.

  • Experience in planning and scheduling within a complex, multi‑site environment.
  • Proven team management and leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective influencer with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work autonomously, demonstrating resilience and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Able to build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with stakeholders.
  • Confident user of MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Bookings, and Forms.
