Role Summary
The Occupational Health Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of occupational health services for a prestigious client within the automotive manufacturing sector. This is a predominantly management-focused role, providing leadership, clinical supervision, and line management to an on-site, multi-disciplinary clinical team.
The role requires proven experience in managing complex health surveillance programmes, overseeing service delivery, and ensuring consistently high clinical standards. While the primary focus is on leadership and performance management, the OH Manager will also provide ad hoc case management and expert clinical input for complex or high-risk cases as required.
Working closely with senior client stakeholders, the OH Manager will build strong partnerships to deliver agreed occupational health and wellbeing objectives. The role includes monitoring performance against benchmarked targets, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring services are compliant with evidence-based practice, legislative requirements, and clinical governance standards.
There will also be an expectation to visit other sites (Wiltshire, Hampshire and West Midlands) on a quarterly and ad hoc basis to ensure OH services are delivered to a high standard. Expenses are reimbursed.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Experience of managing Occupational Health contracts as a Clinician
- Experience of managing health surveillance programmes
- Clinical qualification as Nurse with registration with relevant professional body (NMC or HCPC).
- Experienced in Occupational Health clinical delivery as Occupational Health Advisor or similar
- Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical employees.
- Experience of using data as a tool to take the service forward.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
