Opticore IT is a rapidly expanding specialist IT Service Consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within challenging and exciting environments across our client base spanning multiple verticals including Finance, Media, Telecommunications and more. We are currently searching for a Wireless Engineer to join our Network Practice to conduct 802.11 wireless surveys for our managed service clients and project work. This is a hybrid position, but you will be required to attend our HQ in Central London two days a week.
What you'll be doing:
- Conducting on-site Wi-Fi RF surveys at different environments (offices, warehouses, stadiums, etc.) to assess performance.
- Analyzing the survey results, identifying issues based on vendor and OpticoreIT best practice.
- Presenting findings of the surveys to Senior and Technical Assurance Wireless Engineers.
- Generating reports utilizing OpticoreIT templates and submitting for internal review.
- Conducting on-site troubleshooting to resolve wireless performance issues, such as poor coverage, high latency, or excessive packet loss.
- Working with BAU, Project, and Client teams to manage their workload, keeping to strict client deadlines.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience using Ekahau AI Pro and the Sidekick 2 solutions.
- An understanding of basic 802.11 wireless principles.
- An understanding of the different Wi-Fi surveys (active & passive) and their uses.
- Willingness to travel in the UK and abroad as needed.
