Opticore IT is currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer to join one of our Financial Services clients for a new data centre implementation project. This opportunity will require you to be in Central London up to 4 days a week. Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
You will be responsible for the deployment and configuration of cutting-edge data centre technologies. This opportunity requires someone with experience in Low Latency Networks, Colo Infrastructure and Automation.
What you'll be doing:
- Global WAN solutions
- Cloud connectivity
- Low latency networks, including layer 1 switching
- Timing solutions using GPS, PTP, NTP and PPS
- Packet capture solutions, including optical taps, SPAN, tap aggregation and timestamping
- Packet Analysis using Wireshark
- Interconnecting for market data and order entry in exchange collocations
- Multicast configuration and troubleshooting
- Automation tools, including Git, Python, Golang, Jenkins, Terraform and Ansible
What you'll bring:
- Minimum CCNP qualified network engineer
- Experience using Routing protocols - BGP
- Low latency networks, including layer 1 switching
- History working with Cisco IOS-XR, Cisco NXOS, Arista EOS routers and switches (one or more of these)
- Experience working on WAN networks, preferably OTN
- Implementation of new networks/WAN circuits
- Handover of new networks/WAN circuits
- Migration to new networks/WAN circuits
- Using automation for Day-1 deployment and Day-2 network management using Ansible and Python preferred
- Work on trading related networks
- Working with market data, exchanges, brokers
