Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer to work on the design and implementation of low-latency network projects within client data centre environments across multiple exchanges. This opportunity is working for a major Financial Services client.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working in a complex, multi-vendor environment, ideally including Cisco and Arista platforms.
- Working in a co‑location (Co‑Lo) or data centre environment, including hands‑on rack‑and‑stack, cross‑connects and vendor coordination.
- Design, build, and support high‑performance, low‑latency network infrastructure within colocation environments.
- Maintain and evolve global WAN and cloud connectivity solutions.
- Configure and troubleshoot multicast and low‑latency network environments.
- Implement and support timing solutions (GPS, PTP, NTP, PPS).
- Deploy and manage packet capture and monitoring solutions; perform packet analysis.
- Support exchange colocation connectivity for market data and order entry.
- Drive automation using modern tooling and scripting.
What you’ll bring:
- Strong hands‑on experience with routing and switching in a complex, multi‑vendor environment.
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS and troubleshooting at Layer 2/3.
- Previous exposure working in a CoLo environment.
- Previous experience with automation.
