OpticoreIT is a specialist IT services consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within challenging and exciting environments across our client base, which varies from large enterprises to FTSE 100 companies and spans multiple verticals, including Finance, Media, Telecommunications, and much more.

We are currently searching for an Aruba Specialised, Network Implementation Engineer with a proven track record in network support to join our Network Practice.

You’ll be joining our existing team within our Hospitality Client, reporting to the Head of Networks. You’ll be working both projects and operations, with a lean towards projects, with 1 in 8 weeks on support but if there is a major incident you will be bought in to assist.

This is a hybrid position based in the North London area, with the need to be on-site 2 days a week and seldom travel to client sites to fix faults if required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Site migrations Tues to Thurs, supporting the team on them remotely mainly with occasional travel to UK hotel sites, and data centres in London and Manchester. This is for cases where additional project or support requirements extend beyond the usual e.g. DC installations, or urgent L3 fault finding
  • Working on various projects in the background too
  • Working with the Opticore NOC team as we monitor the outlets for the client
  • Helping plan changes, from upgrades to more complex changes, such as reclassifying traffic across the SD-WAN fabric
  • Design opportunities on smaller projects, e.g. a new test network, or the testing and implementation of a new service to be incorporated.
  • Support Rota for L3- escalation, high-level monitoring, SNOW, incident response, attending CAB calls,
  • Supporting third-party site migrations remotely usually looking at issues with ClearPass, Aruba Central switch templates, Aruba IAP issues
  • Attending CAB Calls
  • Incident Response

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent knowledge of Aruba CPPM (ClearPass Policy Manager)
  • Strong routing and switching
  • History of working with Aruba (Silverpeak) SDWAN
  • Understanding of Aruba Central
  • Hands-on exposure with Aruba AOS-CX switches and IAP Access Points, controlled via Aruba Central
  • Knowledge of Cisco Firepower
  • Logical thinking, initiative, exceptional organisation
  • Ability to work on multiple workstreams
