Join to apply for the GCP DevOps Engineer role at OpticoreIT. This is an initial 6‑month contract (Inside IR35) with a prospect of extension, based on site 1 day a week in Central London. OpticoreIT is searching for a GCP DevOps Engineer to actively participate in diverse projects encompassing the entire lifecycle of deploying a GCP landing zone and building services on top of it. You will contribute to design, implementation, and maintenance aligned with the needs of development teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Participate in projects covering the full lifecycle of deploying a GCP landing zone and constructing services on it.
- Support onboarding and continuously seek ways to enhance processes and platform services for developers.
- Apply deep understanding of cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration to architect a reliable, scalable, and secure GCP environment.
- Integrate best practices and automation to ensure a consistent, standardised experience for developers, enabling rapid development and deployment cycles.
What you’ll bring:
- Proficiency in GCP/AWS services such as Networking, Compute, Storage, Identity & Security, Operations, and Monitoring.
- Demonstrated expertise in IaC using Terraform and experience crafting Terraform modules.
- Strong skills with version control systems (e.g., GitLab, Bitbucket).
- Proficiency in CI/CD practices using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI.
- Experience operating in an Agile environment with enterprise change‑control processes.
