Overview
Opticore IT are currently searching for a DevOps Engineer who is strong in GCP and Terraform to join the team. You will join our excelling team, based in the Manchester area, at our FS Client, where their team is responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. You will gain a mix of strong hands-on engineering capabilities with technical leadership, decision-making, and contributions to platform strategy and governance.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure platforms and products on GCP
- Deliver infrastructure solutions that meet performance, scalability, resilience, and availability requirements
- Support application and data teams by providing robust, reusable cloud services and patterns
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning, deployment, and operational tasks
- Monitor cloud environments and proactively identify performance, capacity, and reliability issues
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement
- Implement secure-by-design cloud architectures, including IAM, networking, and monitoring controls
- Identify and manage technology risks within the cloud domain
- Work closely with architects, product owners, developers, and other engineering teams
- Contribute to design discussions and technical decision-making across programmes
About you
- Have a history of designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure platforms and products on GCP
- Previously developed and maintained Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform
- Solid understanding of network fundamentals
- A background of working in an Enterprise Environment
- Excellent Stakeholder Management
