Overview
Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Broadcast Media client to assist with a MultiCloud BCP project backup deployment solution. You\'ll join our excelling team based in the London area, on a 6-month contract inside IR35, with scope to extend.
This is a hybrid position that requires travel to our clients\' site in the West London area, 1 day a week.
Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
What you\'ll be doing
- To assist with the Multi Cloud BCP project backup deployment solution.
- Integrating with the strategic backups project.
- Explain concept and confirm requirements with business stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with other developers to help design, build, and optimise multi cloud BCP.
- Replacing the backup solution with Commvault from Net Backup.
- Helping form the backup strategy and gathering requirements from various departments to analyse BCP requirements (e.g., HR systems and their backups).
- Gathering requirements and helping deploy in an automated fashion on Commvault which is the new solution being used for backups.
What you\'ll bring
- Strong experience with Commvault or NetBackup.
- Familiar with AWS Backup, Azure Backup, snapshot-based protection.
- Strong PowerShell scripting (including VaporShell or CloudFormation extensions).
- Some experience with Python.
- Deep understanding of AWS services and architecture – EC2, S3, VPC.
- Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).
- Proficient with Terraform.
- Experience with Puppet for config management and agent install.
- Comfortable with Windows Server and Linux administration.
