Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Wireless Engineer to be the Technical Authority for all things Wireless, providing guidance and support to engineers across the business.
Defining, maintaining and continuously improving wireless engineering standards, best practices and technical documentation.
This opportunity is based in our HQ in Central London up to 2 days a week.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering client wireless project work as required.
- Acting as the technical authority for our wireless practice, providing guidance and support to engineers across the business.
- Defining, maintaining and continuously improving wireless engineering standards, best practices and technical documentation.
- Reviewing solution designs and implementation approaches to ensure they meet customer requirements and align with industry best practice.
- Owning Wi Fi pre-sales activities by contributing to solution design, technical workshops, quotes and pricing.
- Working closely with Account Managers and customers to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Providing technical assurance throughout project lifecycles, identifying risks and ensuring successful delivery.
- Technical leadership, mentoring and development of the wireless engineering team members through coaching, knowledge sharing and technical reviews.
- Keeping the business at the forefront of wireless technologies, vendor capabilities and emerging best practices.
- Attending and organising attendance of Wi Fi exhibitions.
What you'llbring
- Enterprise Wi-Fi design, RF planning, coverage/capacity, design documentation and reviewing/assuring wireless solutions.
- Strong enterprise wireless experience across platforms such as Cisco, Aruba or Mist, plus 802.11 standards and Wi-Fi security.
- Working enterprise experience Cisco ISE and/or Aruba CPPM.
- Strong understanding of switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing and how the wired network impacts wireless performance.
- Able to guide engineers, engage customers, scope solutions and support BOMs, quoting and pricing
- Previous experience with Wireless Surveying & Troubleshooting
