Opticore IT are currently searching for a
Senior Platform Engineer who is able to build VDI in AWS using App Stream and Workspaces to come and join the team on an initial 6‑month contract basis with a possibility of extension.
You'll join our excelling team inside IR35, based in the
London area.
This opportunity will have you working with a large enterprise organisation helping to migrate the current Citrix environment to the new VDI (AWS) environment using Automation.
What you’ll be doing
- Build the VDI platform in AWS and migrate Citrix apps to it using App Stream.
- Automated build and configuration of an App Stream 2.0 fleet.
- Expansion of the automated Workspaces platform build.
- App Sense integration.
- Peripheral tooling integration.
- Contribution to design documentation.
- Full operational documentation.
- Development and delivery of service transition materials for migrated applications.
- Migration of at least 3 applications from Citrix Cloud to the new solution.
- Service transition of the migrated applications.
- No on‑call or overtime expected at this stage but any overtime that may be required will be weekday with TOIL.
- Working from home primarily with very occasional team meetings in White City.
What you’ll bring
- Automation using Powershell, Cloud Formation – Automation background.
- AWS App Stream and Workspaces.
- Windows 11 endpoint management in a virtual desktop or VDI context.
- Windows Server and Windows 11, AD into App Stream.
- Written and verbal communication/documentation skills.
