CNC Turner, Setter - Role Description
This full-time, on-site role involves setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-precision aerospace components. You will ensure machining processes are optimised for accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability.
CNC Turner, Setter - Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and manage CNC turning machines (Fanuc controls)
- Prepare tooling, fixtures, and materials for production
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as required
- Perform in-process quality checks to tight aerospace tolerances
- Interpret engineering drawings with precision
- Maintain safe working practices and adhere to production standards
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality output
- Support basic machine maintenance and care
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on CNC turning experience, ideally in aerospace or other high-precision sectors
- Proficient in setting and operating CNC machines with Fanuc controls
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Solid understanding of tooling, machining techniques, and best practices
- Confident troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with premium materials such as Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Aluminium, Nylon
- Commitment to quality assurance and production accuracy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Apprenticeship trained or qualified by experience
