We are a well-established engineering company, specialising in the manufacture of our own high-quality products. Due to increasing work, an opportunity has arisen for a CNC Turner Programmer, Setter, Operator to join our friendly business in Poole, Dorset.
The candidate will be responsible for setting and operating multi-axis CNC lathes and programming where required (Training provided for CNC Setters). This is a senior position with the possibility of extended and allied roles. The right candidate must have previous experience in a similar role and will be fully competent and able to work unsupervised as part of a small team. Experience with sliding head lathes and CNC milling machines an advantage, but not essential.
Hours of work: Generally, 7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7am – 1pm Friday - but we are flexible on actual regular hours and start/finish time.
Skills required:
- Set up & operate CNC Lathe machine tools with FANUC control systems.
- Review, edit and alter existing programs accordingly.
- Competently perform dry runs and produce ‘first offs’.
- To read, understand and work to engineering drawings.
- Must be able to use shop floor inspection equipment.
- Able to effectively and safely delegate running of batches.
- Perform associated engineering tasks.
- Good communication skills with a flexible approach and attitude.
