Hours of Work: 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented WordPress Web Designer to join our in-house marketing team at our Glasgow head office. Reporting directly to the Digital Marketing Director, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining visually engaging, user-focused websites that deliver outstanding user experiences and measurable results.
The ideal candidate combines creativity with technical ability — someone who understands how design decisions impact performance, accessibility, and conversion. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and marketers to bring ideas to life across multiple digital touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build visually compelling WordPress websites and landing pages.
- Create responsive layouts that align with brand guidelines and deliver excellent user experiences across all devices.
- Collaborate with content creators, developers, and marketing teams to translate business goals into effective website design.
- Customize WordPress themes and page builders to create bespoke layouts and functionality.
- Optimize design elements for performance, SEO, accessibility, and conversion.
- Ensure brand consistency and attention to detail across all web assets.
- Maintain and update existing WordPress websites with new creative and content.
- Stay current with web design trends, UX best practices, and emerging tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a WordPress Web Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative design and functional websites.
- Experience using WordPress page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg.
- Working knowledge of SEO and performance optimisation principles.
- Strong visual design skills and an understanding of UI/UX principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and a creative eye for composition, colour, and typography.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, XD, Illustrator) or Figma for mockups and prototyping.
- Familiarity with WooCommerce and eCommerce website design.
- Understanding of basic PHP and WordPress theme structure.
- Experience designing for conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and A/B testing.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
