Optical Express is the UK's leading private provider of laser eye, premium intraocular lens and cataract surgery. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our busy Payroll Team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple companies and employee groups.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering a high level of accuracy and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Processing monthly payrolls from start to finish.
- Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP.
- Administering pension schemes and pension submissions.
- Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes.
- Reviewing and validating payroll data including timesheets, overtime and absence records.
- Producing payroll reports and supporting month-end activities.
- Responding to employee and manager payroll queries.
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation and company policies.
- Assisting with year-end payroll activities including P60s and other statutory requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects within the payroll function.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have previous payroll administration experience.
- Possess excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Have a good understanding of UK payroll legislation.
- Be confident working with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Be organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Have strong communication and customer service skills.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience processing multi-company payrolls.
- Knowledge of salary sacrifice arrangements and pensions administration.
- Experience working in a high-volume payroll environment.
- CIPP qualification or working towards one.
