Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Registered Optometrist to join our amazing and dedicated regional team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role covers four hospitals across the region – Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Nottingham, and Leicester, and requires regular travel between sites. The Role: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the day-to-day operations across all hospitals within the region. Depending on the site and the needs of the business, you will perform some of these tasks:

  • Pre-operative & Post-operative NHS cataract assessments
  • Pre-operative & Post-operative Private Refractive surgery assessments
  • Out of hours emergency on call (evenings and weekends)
  • YAG capsulotomy consultation and treatment
  • Co-management of patients within a consultant-led Medical Retina pathway
  • Co-management of patients within a doctor-led Glaucoma pathway
  • Co-management of other ophthalmology pathways as they arise in the future

Requirements:

  • Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist, ideally with at least 2 years continuous registration
  • Previous hospital or refractive experience is ideal but not essential as full training will be provided
  • IP qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working to conversion targets and other business KPIs
