Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Glaucoma Doctor to join our amazing and dedicated team. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking business and benefit from our fantastic comprehensive benefits package, along with fully funded training and development programs. This is a part time role, 2 days per week 19h on a 6-12 month fixed term contract with a pro-rated salary of £40,533.33.

- The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our NHS medical glaucoma service, providing both clinical and surgical assistance.

Job responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions.
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy.
- Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options.
Person Specification
Experience
- Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases and ability to work independently.
- UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized university.
- Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK.
