Job Description:

Optegra has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Grade Doctor with ophthalmology experience, particularly in glaucoma management, to join our team at Maidstone Eye Hospital. This part-time role involves 2 days per week, 20 hours, offering a great chance to grow within our expanding business with funded training and development programs.

The Role

We seek a motivated Staff Grade Doctor to support our NHS glaucoma service, providing clinical and surgical assistance with a focus on patient care and glaucoma management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, evaluate, and manage glaucoma and ocular conditions
  • Perform diagnostic tests (visual fields, OCT, Volk, CCT, gonioscopy)
  • Manage glaucoma referrals
  • Provide pre- and post-operative patient care
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
  • Participate in team meetings and service development
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Educate patients and families about glaucoma

What You’ll Need:

  • Medical degree from a recognized university
  • Valid GMC registration and UK practice license
  • Experience in ophthalmology, especially glaucoma management
  • UK NHS glaucoma clinic experience
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
