Optegra Eye Health Care has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Registered Optometrist to join our amazing and dedicated regional team on a part time basis, 2 days per week (flexible across Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). This role covers four hospitals across the region - Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Nottingham, and Leicester, and requires regular travel between sites. The Role:

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the day-to-day operations across all hospitals within the region. Depending on the site and the needs of the business, you will perform some of these tasks:

  • Pre-operative & Post-operative NHS cataract assessments.
  • Pre-operative & Post-operative Private Refractive surgery assessments.
  • Out of hours emergency on call (evenings and weekends).
  • YAG capsulotomy consultation and treatment.
  • Co-management of patients within a consultant-led Medical Retina pathway.
  • Co-management of patients within a doctor-led Glaucoma pathway.
  • Co-management of other ophthalmology pathways as they arise in the future.

Requirements:

  • Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist, ideally with at least 2 years continuous registration.
  • Previous hospital or refractive experience is ideal but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • IP qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working to conversion targets and other business KPIs.
