Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Registered Optometrist to join our amazing and dedicated regional team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role covers four hospitals across the region - Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Nottingham, and Leicester, and requires regular travel between sites. The Role
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the day-to-day operations across all hospitals within the region. Depending on the site and the needs of the business, you will perform some of these tasks:
- Pre-operative & Post-operative NHS cataract assessments
- Pre-operative & Post-operative Private Refractive surgery assessments
- Out of hours emergency on call (evenings and weekends)
- YAG capsulotomy consultation and treatment
- Co-management of patients within a consultant led Medical Retina pathway
- Co-management of patients within a doctor led Glaucoma pathway
- Co-management of other ophthalmology pathways as they arise in the future
Requirements
- Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist, ideally with at least 2 yrs continuous registration
- Previous hospital or refractive experience is ideal but not essential as full training will be provided
- IP qualification is desirable but not essential
- Experience of working to conversion targets and other business KPIs
