Optec Services is a well-established electrical, HVAC and renewables contractor based at Westcott Venture Park near Aylesbury. Our main client is the UK’s leading garden building company; we also supply and install solar PV and air conditioning systems across the domestic and light commercial markets.
We are pleased to be recruiting an experienced HVAC / Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team, working across domestic-style and light commercial air conditioning projects. The successful candidate will become a key member of our installation and maintenance team, supporting a long-term garden building client installing standard split and multi-split AC systems, alongside servicing, maintenance and occasional commercial AC works for our facilities management clients.
This role is suited to an experienced AC engineer who is F-Gas qualified, confident working independently and able to lead by example on site while maintaining high installation and customer service standards.
- Installation and commissioning of standard split and multi-split air conditioning systems
- Planned servicing and maintenance of existing air conditioning assets
- Install and maintain commercial air conditioning works for facilities management clients
- Act as a senior technical presence on site, maintaining installation standards and best practice
- Travel to sites across the UK as required
- Occasional overnight stays (hotels and food fully paid for by the company)
- Work on sites alongside company electricians on garden building installations

Requirements:
- City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas CAT1 ODS Regulations Qualification
- Strong hands-on experience installing and servicing split air conditioning systems
- Confident fault-finding and commissioning ability
- Electrical awareness and basic fault-finding knowledge
- Must hold a valid full UK driving licence
- Experience with multi-split or light commercial AC systems
- Interest in developing broader HVAC or electrical skills
Full-time, permanent position – Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
- £300 per month performance bonus (£3,600 per year at 100%) - Bonus is performance-based, with the opportunity to exceed 100% for exceptional performance
