This is a full-time permanent role with hybrid working and a salary of £39,526–£50,446 per annum. The role is part of the Enforcement and Conservation Team led by the Principal Conservation Officer, tackling complex enforcement investigations, applications for injunctions, and serving as lead witness at public inquiries and prosecutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on complex enforcement investigations and applications for injunctions
  • Act as lead witness at public inquiries and prosecutions
  • Work closely with the Principal Conservation Officer on heritage enforcement matters
  • Provide mentoring and day‑to‑day supervision of junior team members
  • Apply knowledge of listed building enforcement and other enforcement actions
  • Maintain good communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders

Qualifications

Applicants should have a strong knowledge and experience of town planning and planning enforcement, along with evidence of being well‑organised, communicative, and capable of mentoring.
