The Short-Term Support & Rehabilitation (STS&R) team is a reablement service dedicated to helping people regain the skills and confidence they need to live independently after illness, injury or hospital stay. Unlike traditional care, our focus is on reablement – we don't just "do things" for our customers; we empower them to do them for themselves, minimising the need for long‑term support.
As a Rehabilitation Care Assistant you are part of a high-level, multi-disciplinary team, working alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, offering opportunities to develop clinical knowledge and explore different career paths within health and social care.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist with personal care, medication and physical wellbeing based on 1:1 requirements.
- Support customers with daily tasks while teaching them techniques to do them independently.
- Work with therapists to follow specific rehabilitation plans.
- Visit customers in their own homes across the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.
- Work a mix of morning and afternoon shifts on a rota basis – no nights required.
About you:
Whether you’ve worked in domiciliary care, as a healthcare assistant, or are looking for a total career change, we want to hear from you. We provide full, in‑house training to get you started. As this is a community-based role, you must have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. You are paid for your entire shift, not just the time spent with customers, and receive 45p per mile for your travel.
