Library Weekend Adviser (part‑time weekend roles)
About the role
These are permanent, part‑time weekend roles of 3.75 to 10 hours per week based at Maidenhead Library with a requirement to work across all RBWM libraries as required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to library customers.
- Handle enquiries including council customer service enquiries, community signposting and support services.
- Work with partners and community organisations.
- Facilitate the use of library spaces by other organisations to deliver support services whilst generating income.
- Assist customers with digital support and help them access online services and resources.
Qualifications and skills
- Loves helping people and providing excellent customer service.
- Loves books, reading and lifelong learning.
- Understands the value of public library services to communities and individuals.
- Has excellent digital skills and can support customers in using a variety of digital devices and online services.
- Can work at any library location within the Borough as required.
Physical requirements
Includes moving stock, carrying boxes of books, pushing loaded book trolleys and spending extended periods on feet throughout the working day.
