Position Summary & Objective

The Senior EHSS Advisor supports delivering a robust, compliant, and high-performing EHSS framework across multiple manufacturing plants, R&D facilities, and offices.

This role focuses on ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22301 & ISO 14298 management systems, audit readiness, and cross-site standardization.

This role will be based at Leicester with frequent travel to the Basingstoke sites (2).

Essential Functions Performed by the Position

  • Supports the deployment of EHSS strategy across a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Owns and coordinates ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 systems across all locations
  • Leads internal audit programs and coordinate external certification audits
  • Drives standardization of EHSS processes across manufacturing, R&D, and office sites
  • Conducts site audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Supports risk management processes covering machinery, process safety, and lab environments.
  • Leads/supports incident investigations and corrective action management
  • Builds capability across site teams through coaching and training on ISO and compliance.
  • Position Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing EHSS roles
  • Proven track record managing or supporting ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 systems
  • Experience working with security protocols in manufacturing and R&D environments
  • Multi-site experience (manufacturing + ideally R&D/labs)
  • Internal/Lead Auditor experience highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of UK EHSS/International legislation
  • Experience supporting or coordinating business continuity plans and emergency preparedness
  • Experience driving standardisation and governance across diverse operational sites
  • Security & business continuity experience
  • Confident influencing site leadership and operationa l teams
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong expertise in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including implementation, maintenance, and audit readiness
  • Proven ability to manage multi-site EHSS frameworks across manufacturing, R&D, and office environments
  • Highly competent in internal auditing, compliance assurance, and corrective action management
  • In-depth knowledge of UK EHSS/International legislation and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong risk assessment and hazard identification skills across industrial and laboratory settings
  • Advanced skills in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Understanding of site security principles (physical security, access control, contractor management)
  • Ability to support integrated EHSS & security risk assessments
  • Ability to collaborate with security teams to ensure aligned risk management and compliance
  • Working knowledge of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Crisis Management frameworks
  • Ability to assess operational risks and contribute to resilience and recovery strategies
