About the Company

OPR’s client is a specialist carpentry and joinery subcontractor delivering high‑quality packages across new‑build residential schemes in London and the South of England. With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with trade‑package experience to join their commercial team. The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the senior commercial team across the full commercial lifecycle of carpentry and joinery packages, including:

  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, quotations and BOQs for carpentry & joinery packages
  • Managing day‑to‑day commercial and subcontract administration
  • Procurement of materials, labour and specialist suppliers
  • Identifying, pricing and submitting variations
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, applications and final accounts
  • Reviewing drawings/specifications and assisting in design development
  • Assessing subcontractor bids, applications and payment notices
  • Producing accurate CVRs, forecasts and cost reports
  • Working closely with operations and site teams to ensure strong cost control
  • Supporting tendering and pricing for new projects
  • Acting as a key commercial point of contact for clients and suppliers

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience within carpentry/joinery, interiors, or residential trade packages
  • Strong commercial and numerical skills
  • Experience working for a subcontractor or specialist trade contractor
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple live projects
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to read drawings and carry out accurate take‑offs

Desirable

  • Experience in new‑build residential developments
  • UK-based QS experience
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, estimating/measurement tools)
  • Ambition to progress into a fully self-sufficient QS role
