A long-established food manufacturing business is looking for a sharp, detail-driven Quality Control & Labelling Assistant to join its night shift production team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of food safety, quality, and compliance in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out quality checks across the production floor to ensure food safety and compliance
- Monitoring and recording temperatures (WIP, fridges, freezers, defrosting, probes)
- Managing sanitisation checks, chlorine levels, and test strip controls for high-risk products
- Overseeing cleaning schedules and hygiene standards
- Performing metal detection checks and product weight verification
- Maintaining detailed QA documentation and submitting weekly reports
- Tracking internal rejects, short-dated and expired stock
- Calibrating scales, probes, air temps, and dishwasher probes weekly
- Printing, managing, and changing over product labels throughout the shift
- Maintaining label printers, coordinating repairs, and managing label stock
- Escalating any food safety or hygiene issues immediately
What We're Looking For
- Experience in quality control or food production (food manufacturing preferred)
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and QA procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills
- Confident working independently during night shifts
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic IT skills (MS Office)
- Food safety qualifications (HACCP, SQF, ServSafe, etc.) are a bonus
