Our client is a global manufacturing company whose UK site is based in Surrey and their head office in Germany. They are looking for a Service Technician who has an electro-mechanical degree/qualification and experience of working in the pharma or manufacturing/packaging industry.
Training on the products will be at their main site in Germany. It is working 40 hours per week, based as Monday to Friday 8 hours per day, with overtime and overnight allowance. Bank holidays (when required) are 1.5 with a day in lieu. Our client also offers a company bonus scheme, 25 days holiday, medical insurance and a company car/car allowance.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation, installation, startup, production support, maintenance, and repair of our machines.
- Support the assembly of equipment and acceptance testing (usually onsite at the customer).
- Provide telephone support to our customers.
- Work closely and communicate effectively with the Customer Service Department in the UK and Germany.
Expected travel time for up to 150-220 days per year (mainly weekdays). Travel generally in the UK (Midlands area) and Ireland, but maybe also throughout the world.
Requirements:
- A Mechanical and Engineering qualification is essential - ideally from a packaging or assembly automation background.
- Previous solid experience within this field.
- A driver who is flexible and able to travel nationally and internationally.
- Good customer service skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills are essential.
- German language skills not essential but advantageous.
- Willingness to travel worldwide up to 150 days/year.
