Our client is a logistics company who works within the entertainment industry and they are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join them on an ongoing temporary contract. The hours are 8 am to 5 pm Mon-Friday with lunch from 1 pm to 2 pm. There is an opportunity to earn overtime at the weekend and evenings during busy periods.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our small team based in Woking. This role would be suitable for a person local to the area who is energetic with an interest in the entertainment industry.
Job Purpose: This is a hands-on job requiring you to supervise workshop staff in the day-to-day running of the business. You will take part in the preparation and maintenance of rental equipment for shows whilst monitoring the quality of work, productivity, and efficiency of the warehouse team. You will help manage stock, check jobs in and out, and operate the inventory booking system. Loading and unloading of trucks will be required, both through the week and at weekends.
Main Objectives and Activities:
- Support the warehouse operations manager in the day-to-day running of the workshop. This will involve:
- The preparation of equipment.
- Building of aluminium structures, painting of stage decks, and other physical activities.
- Knowledge of the use of power tools is an asset as well as carpentry skills.
- Any other skills such as welding or electromechanical relating to set building and fabrication will be useful.
- The ability to drive a forklift and to have a clean driving license to drive a sprinter van would be useful.
- Help maintain good housekeeping of the workshop and surrounding areas to ensure that all health and safety requirements are met and that the building and stock of equipment within it are secure.
- Suggest measures of improvement and development of the warehouse.
