Our client is a leader within the care / healthcare sector and they are looking for a Management Accountant to work closely with the Finance team and senior management to provide accurate financial insights and help guide strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Provide variance analysis, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities for the business. Assist in the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial projections. Review financial performance against budgets and provide detailed analysis on any deviations.
  • Cost Management: Oversee cost control processes, ensuring that expenses remain within budgeted limits and identifying areas for cost reduction. Monitor key financial metrics such as staffing costs, supply chain expenses, and utility consumption. Provide recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing unnecessary expenditure.
  • Financial Modelling and Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions, including pricing strategies, service offerings, and expansion plans. Assist in cash flow forecasting to ensure the company’s financial stability and support operational needs.
  • Management of Financial Systems: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records by maintaining up-to-date accounting systems. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or errors. Support the implementation of new financial systems or upgrades to existing ones, ensuring seamless integration with operational processes.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that all financial practices comply with local regulations, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP), and industry best practices. Liaise with external auditors and assist in the preparation of annual audit reports and tax filings. Prepare and submit any necessary regulatory or statutory reports as required.
  • Collaboration and Advisory: Provide financial guidance to senior leadership, department heads, and managers, helping them make data-driven decisions to enhance operational and financial performance. Support and work closely with operational teams, ensuring that financial goals align with the organization’s overall strategy. Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and refine long-term business plans.
  • Strategic Support: Contribute to strategic decision-making, including potential investments, acquisitions, or expansion into new markets. Evaluate the financial feasibility of new projects, helping to assess risks and returns.
Key Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Education and Certifications: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent). A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Management Accountant. Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Experience working with financial software and management accounting systems.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, etc.). Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
