The application window for one of the awaited “Gates Cambridge Scholarship” for the academic session 2026 is now open. A prestigious scholarship program hosted at the University of Cambridge, managed by the Greats Cambridge trust, and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, offers an incredible opportunity to the high-achieving students from outsidethe UK to study Postgraduate degree programs Master’s, PhD & Mlitt at one of the world’s oldest and prestigious public research institute (University of Cambrdige) in the UK.
The University of Cambridge offers Postgraduate degree programs in a wide range of study fields, such as Arts & Humanities, Law, Education, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Social Science, architecture, etc Applicants from diverse academic backgrounds are invited to submit applications. Each year, the foundation awards a total of 80 scholarships to outstanding students, of which two-thirds of the awards are assigned for PhD students and the rest are for one-year postgraduate degrees.
The objective of the scholarship programme is to attract academically outstanding students from outside the UK, enabling them to pursue their higher education at Cambridge and empowering them to tackle the pressing global challenges. The foundation offers comprehensive financial support for the duration of the degree program at Cambridge. The coverage includes full tuition fees, an Annual stipend, travel costs, health coverage, and more. Read more details about the scholarship below.

The Gates Cambridge scholarship covers:
- Full tuition fees cover
- Annual stipend of £21,000 to cover living expenses during their stay
- Round-trip Airfare coverage
- Additional coverage: participation in academic development programs, courses, conferences, spouse/child allowance, field work, etc
Eligiblity Criteria
- Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for the scholarship:
- Accepting applications from all nationals (except citizens of the UK)
- Applying for the full-time postgraduate degree program at Cambridge
- Must have a record of excellent academic achievements

There is no separate application for the scholarship; you need to submit a single application form for both admission and funding. The application process consists of the following steps:
- Step 2: Create an account on the institute application portal
- Step 3: Fill out the complete application form for the chosen course
- Step 4: After completing the application, you will be asked if you are interested in applying for the Gates scholarship. Select “Yes”
- Step 5: Submit your application before the mentioned deadline
