Gillytree Studio in Glenrothes is an established independent florist and homeware retailer with over 10 years’ trading experience, serving the local community and surrounding areas. Alongside our busy retail shop, we provide floral arrangements for weddings, events, special occasions and corporate clients, while also offering a carefully selected range of gifts, homeware and seasonal products. We pride ourselves on delivering high levels of customer service, creativity and a welcoming shopping experience.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Retail Assistant to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build confidence and gain practical experience in a retail environment. The successful candidate will receive training and support while developing skills in customer service, sales, merchandising and day-to-day shop operations.
Duties
- Welcoming and assisting customers
- Processing sales and handling payments
- Creating and maintaining attractive product displays
- Replenishing stock and pricing products
- Assisting with floral gift packaging and presentation
- Keeping the shop clean, organised and visually appealing
- Supporting seasonal promotions, events and busy trading periods
Desirable Skills and Qualities
- Experience using a tills or handling cash/card machines
- Willingness to learn
- Interest in retail, flowers or homewares
- Friendly, positive and approachable manner
- Reliable, punctual and well presented
- Basic numeracy and literary skills are required.
- Artistic skills would be beneficial.
Work Pattern
Store is open 6 days a week from 8 until 6.30pm – exact hours of work will be between these. Full time. Can be full or part time and the job will have weekend work as well.
Eligibility
This post is only open to those who are not in school, are unemployed or are working less than 16 hours per week. Applicants must be 16+ and be living in Fife.
