In this senior role, you’ll bring your knowledge and experience to guide and mentor colleagues, support service development, and work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure every child’s care is personalised and effective.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent, high-quality care to children and young people with complex health needs, following care plans and safeguarding procedures.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with children, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Maintain professional boundaries and promptly elevate concerns or changes in a child’s condition to the Clinical Case Manager.
- Ensure the availability and safe use of clinical equipment.
- Develop and maintain advanced clinical competencies in tracheostomy care, ventilation, gastrostomy care, and other complex procedures.
- Administer medication safely and accurately.
- Work independently as a lone worker, managing and prioritising your workload.
- Provide mentorship, support, and informal training to colleagues.
Schedule: This is a 24/7 service, which includes night shifts and weekend rotations throughout the year.
Ideal Candidate:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care, or a recognised Nursery Nurse qualification.
- Understanding of the impact of providing care for children with complex medical needs.
- Experience working with children with additional or complex needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and connect with children and families.
- Willingness and ability to develop new theoretical and practical skills.
- British Sign Language Level 1 or Makaton.
- Minimum 1 year’s experience supporting children with complex health needs.
- Minimum 1 year’s experience working with children in another setting.
Other Requirements: A full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes are essential.
